On 26 March 2024 the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) wrote to DVSA to confirm that its members have accepted the memorandum of understanding (MOU) with DVSA and that it has resolved the trade dispute over the measures to reduce the car driving test waiting times.
PCS consulted its DVSA members at the start of March on the MOU which detailed the measures put forward from DVSA to resolve the issues raised. These include members’ safety, terms and conditions and the standards of safety that driving tests require. PCS members voted to accept the offers made by DVSA in the MOU.
DVSA are pleased that the ongoing talks between DVSA and the PCS union have been successful and welcome the news that the dispute over measures to reduce the driving test waiting times has been resolved. DVSA continue to work hard to reduce driving test waiting times through ongoing measures and the Ready the Pass? campaign. Colleagues across DVSA are working extremely hard to reduce waiting times and industrial action would have had an impact on this work. They remain immensely grateful for their continued efforts to bring waiting times down.
