Are you interested in keeping the roads safe for everyone?
Do you have a calm, collected manner?
Are you able to stay focussed on the situation in hand?
If you’re looking for a new challenge, this could be the role for you.
Between July and September this year, DVSA are launching 3 new campaigns to recruit Driving Examiners across Great Britain.
They need dedicated and motivated people to join them to help make the roads a safer place.
The first is launching today – Tuesday 15 July.
Sound interesting?
You need to:
- be aged over 23
- have held a full manual driving license for a minimum of three years
- have an understanding of the Highway Code
- have the ability to remain cool, calm and collected under pressure
- be detail oriented, objective and efficient in your outlook to your work
- have good people management skills
The people you test will be nervous, so you’ll need to be reassuring and able to put them at ease.
DVSA will train you!
You’ll go on an intensive 7-week training phase to make sure you’re up to speed. This must be done full-time.
The work pattern
- full-time examiners test 5 out of 7 days in a 37-hour week
- flexible working hours
- part-time working hours are available
You will also have access to lots of other work benefits to help your work-life balance such as the Civil Service pension, retail discounts, and more. Find out more in this video.
If you still want time to think, there will be two more campaigns in the next few months.
