A Weekend of Insight, Networking, and Celebration

Whether you’re attending for the training, the networking, or our birthday celebrations, this is an event not to be missed.

Friday, 25th July, marks the start of the weekend, with check-in from 3 pm. Guests can enjoy full access to the hotel’s facilities before gathering for a buffet dinner around 7.30 pm, an ideal time to meet your fellow instructors, speak with exhibitors, and ease into the weekend.

Saturday, 26th July, is dedicated to training and development. From 10 am to 3.30 pm, the day will include expert speakers, interactive workshops, and networking, with lunch provided.

🚗Pauline Reeves OBE – DVSA Director of Service – ‘The future of your industry’

Hear directly from one of the most influential figures in the sector about the future of our industry and how upcoming changes may affect you.

Pauline Reeves OBE became the Director of Driver Services at the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) in November 2024.

Pauline was previously Head of the Road Safety Division at the Department for Transport (DfT).

Pauline has more than 20 years’ experience of working across central and local government and the private sector in policy, operational and corporate delivery roles.

 

🚗Confident Drivers- ‘How to interact better with your pupils.’

Get proven techniques to communicate more effectively with your pupils, improve their confidence, and tackle anxiety behind the wheel.

Kev is a personal development coach, NLP practitioner, and a grade A ORDIT registered instructor. Tracey is a mindfulness teacher qualified in stress management techniques and recently completed her psychology degree with The Open University.  Together they have combined their skills and knowledge and applied them to driving anxiety, stress and nerves.

Kev and Tracey run training courses for ADIs who want to understand more about how to help their nervous students and are regular speakers at driver training industry events, as well as being the hosts of The Driving Confidence Podcast.

Alan has spent over 25 years advising small, medium, and large businesses on their accounts and taxes. His current passion is making sure that every small business is aware and ready for Making Tax Digital. Basically, he’s a tax nerd!

Founders Kev and Neil will lead interactive, practical session called “30 Seconds to Shine”

With a passion for teaching and a knack for simplifying the complex, Kev is dedicated to empowering others through education and effective communication.

Neil Wightman is a distinguished Driving Mentor, co-founder of the Innovative Driving Education Academy, and author of Untwisting the Road to Success. Renowned for training driving instructors, Neil excels in developing PDIs and ADIs in driver education with innovative methodologies and professional excellence.

 

🚗Olly Tayler, Co-Founder of The Honest Truth- Why Bother with road safety as part of learning to drive

Discover how small changes in your teaching can have a lasting impact on pupils’ lives and road safety as a whole.

Olly spent 30 years in Public Service in a variety of Policing roles, all of them front line including patrol, neighbourhood and specialist operations.

He spent approximately 13 years on Roads Policing and during that time he attended and investigated countless serious and fatal road traffic collisions.  As a Lead Investigating Officer for such incidents Olly is all too aware of the consequences of poor decision making behind the wheel.

Having been an advanced driver and advanced motorcyclist for the Police Olly spent much of his time either behind the wheel or on two wheels, and knows all too well the importance of critical decision making and how behaviour and attitude can catastrophically affect the outcome of a journey.

Olly was awarded the Queens Police Medal (QPM) in the 2014 New Years Honours List for distinguished and exceptional service.  When presented this accolade by the Queen herself in October 2015 she made a point of asking about his work in road safety and with young drivers.
