DVSA update: ‘Ready to Pass?’ campaign ads restart on social media and websites

Starting from this week, learner drivers and parents will start to see paid-for ads again across social media and on selected websites, encouraging them to visit the ‘Ready to Pass?’ website. This includes

  • adverts that appear on other relevant websites that learner drivers and their parents and guardians use
  • adverts on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Reddit

DVSA will also be trialling the use of sponsored search results in Google.

What are search adverts?

Search adverts target people searching for terms related to the driving test. Depending on the things they search for, they will see different adverts that will direct them to different parts of the campaign website.

This will give us the opportunity to get the campaign message in front of people who are searching for:

  • earlier driving test
  • driving test cancellations
  • faster driving test

DVSA will monitor the effectiveness of these adverts to make sure they are working and use this insight to inform future paid for activity.

Ready to Pass? learning bundles

To support the campaign DVSA are creating some bundles of learning resources for you to use with your pupils, which include:

  • Driving the Essential Skills
  • Learning to Drive
  • Know your Traffic Signs
  • The Highway Code
  • Practical teaching for driving instructors
  • Theory Test flash cards

This bundle will be available on the Safe Driving for Life website shortly and will save you 35% compared to buying the resources individually. There will also be bundles for learner drivers and their family and friends which will be available at the same time. We will let you know when they are available.
